#2- Hannover

The second stop on our trip was Han(n)over, capital of the state of Lower Saxony (or Niedersachsen as we say in Germany). It's quite a beautiful city, not very big but it has a wonderful lake called Maschsee and some really pretty buildings. The whole city in general seemed to be very light-coloured to me, it's really clean and the streets and pavements are pretty wide which is nice. Unfortunately, some of the people there weren't exactly nice, there were several occassions within a few hours in which people shouted at me and made rude and nasty comment about my clothes and my parasol. The Count got really upset about it but in the end we decided to simply forget about it and enjoy ourselves.

The weather was lovely!

Travelling the Country- #1 Hamburg

Okay, so the first city we visited on our list of day trips was Hamburg. I have been there before a lot of times but some sight seeing anyway. It was mostly walking around in the sun, we enjoyed ourselves a lot.

Yay to ferris wheels. Fun fact: The fun fair is called "Dom" which is the German word for cathedral and whenever my friends from hamburg talk about the  Dom I wonder why I have never been in it because I love old, opulant churches. One day I'll remember...

As you can see the weather was seriously lovely, we had a lot of fun!

Have a great day,

About Friendship

Friendship is a beautiful thing. It doesn't matter if you hae a lot of friends, a handful or maybe just that one special person you'd trust with your life, a good friend will always manage to make you smile, even if it's by crying with you. No, seriously, have you ever tried to cry with a close friend? It's almost impossible, you'll both end up lauging.

Okay, so I want to tell you about my friend. The only tears I share with this special friend of mine are tears of laughter. I've known her for what feels like my whole life although in reality it's only been 6 years. We met under weird circumstances, her best friend was my first boyfriend's new girlfriend and the first impression we had of each other wasn't great. But somehow we got unbelievably close in a really short time and after a few weeks she asked me if I wanted to come on holidays with her. Since then we have been on several holidays together, eaten ridiculous amounts of nachos and drunken liters of bubbly together. We're pretty different from the two young girls that met at a skate park 6 years ago, we've grown up, finished school, got found love, dumped/got dumped, found jobs, started studying et cetera. She is even living in her second own flat already! Times have changed. We used to see each other up to 5 times a week, now we are happy if we can manage to see each other every Sunday.
One thing has never changed though:
I can't imagine my life without her.

A few weeks ago she went on holidays and brought me back these:

Aren't they beautiful?!

I hung them up on a birthday card she gave me in March

Of course friendships can't be measured in the presents you give to each other but I was chuffed about thosde lovely earrings anyway. Which is another reason why I feel really guilty. Yesterday was her birthday. I couldn't be there. I'm sorry. I'll make it up to you!

Okay, so I'm kinda travelling through the whole country?

We did it. My boyfriend and I got ourselves a ticket and started doing day and multi-day trips through the whole country. It's wonderful but also a bit exhausting and god, it costs money... But it's well worth it, it's something we probably won't be able to do in the future when we are both working. Unfortunately, this is also the reason why this blog has been that quiet lately, I'm very sorry, it's just hard to blog when you are always on the road. The next posts will be about the trips we made, I'm excited to share them with you. I just came back from Munich and Augsburg but you'll hear and see more about that in a later post.

Enjoy the summer and have a great day,
The Countess
